Open play bookings and registrations are final.
Drop-in sessions/single play passes are non-refundable and do not apply for rescheduling, make ups or credits.
Annual Membership
We offer a flexible membership to suit your family's needs. You may cancel your membership at any time with a minimum of 7 days' notice before your next billing date. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email team@theplaylabny.com or by calling the front desk followed by an email. Your membership benefits, including access to free classes, will remain active until the end of your current billing cycle. Please note we do not offer refunds for partial months.
A cancellation fee of 4% will be applied to your refund. Please allow 8-10 working days for a refund to appear on your bank statement.
Classes
Class bookings and registrations are final.
If you need to cancel a scheduled class from your semester session registration, please give us a notice of 24 hours. In this case, we will cancel your class and offer you an option to reschedule. In the case of a cancellation happening less than 24 hours before the class, no refund, no make up or credit will be possible.
Drop-in classes are non-refundable and do not apply for rescheduling, make ups or credits.
Credits for missed classes may only be used for The Play Lab services and may not be used for the Meri Meri store purchases or camps.
Credit
Your credit will expire 3 months after being issued.
All visitors and participants and authorized caregivers must check-in at the reception desk every time they enter the facility. We reserve the right to cap the number of children and persons in any given area inside the facility at any given time to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all. The Play Lab reserves the right to refuse entry to any sick child to prevent contamination.

It is the sole responsibility of the primary parent or guardian to update relevant contact information in our system. This includes names of approved caregivers, phone numbers, mailing address and e-mail address. Remember that this information is crucial in order that we may reach you in case of emergency. The Play Lab is also given permission to contact you via email address provided herein regarding services and schedule.
The Play Lab restricts outside food to be brought into the facility except baby food and allergy-sensitive food. No food (including gum and candy) or beverage is allowed inside the play area at any time under any circumstances.
The Play Lab is a nut-free facility and requests that all members, their children, caregivers and guests be forewarned that no foods containing nuts, nut ingredients or derivatives, be brought onto the premises. The Play Lab discourages other members or caregivers from voluntarily feeding other children (without permission and consent of that child’s parent or caregiver) while on the premises. There may be allergies or foods unsuitable for that child that only the parent or caregiver is aware of.
The Play Lab strictly prohibits any small toys, jewelry or choking hazards to be brought into common areas including classrooms or lounge area that puts other children at risk. Items such as blankets, stuffed animals, pacifiers or other “comfort” are not allowed at this time. Members and authorized caregivers are responsible at all times to help maintain a safe environment for others.
Indoor playground use and member-exclusive activities are reserved for The Play Lab members and pass holders.
No shoes are allowed inside The Play Lab areas and it is mandatory that socks be worn at all times. Socks are available at the front desk for purchase, if needed.
The Play Lab acknowledges that cell phone use is required for emergencies, however, we request that ringers be turned to silent or vibrate mode when inside The Play Lab facility especially when classes are in session. We discourage use of phones during classes to avoid distracting others.
The Play Lab requests that all visitors (members, class participants, authorized caregivers and guests) treat the facility, including but not limited to common areas such as the cafe area and restrooms, with the utmost respect and clean up after themselves in order to maintain a clean & safe environment for everyone.
The Play Lab is not liable for lost or stolen property while using our facilities.
The Play Lab has the right to dismiss any participant who violates the rules of the facility. There will be no refund provided should such cases occur.
Single pass visits have a limited time of 2 hours. Members enjoy unlimited visit time. You can book the visit in advance and arrive to The Play Lab anytime during the opening hours. You can also walk-in for a drop-in session. Please note that capacity restrictions may apply and you may need to wait to enter our space.
To the fullest extent allowed under the law, a parent/guardian of open play participants agrees that The Play Lab is not subject to any claim, loss, demand or damages whatsoever, including, without limitation, those damages resulting from acts of active or passive negligence on the part of The Play Lab, its officers, agents, employees or owners.
The class participant parent/guardian further agrees that The Play Lab is not liable for any injuries, illnesses, medical conditions, expenses, judgments or damages to anyone on The Play Lab premises, or their property and does hereby expressly forever release and discharge The Play Lab, its officers, employees, agents, successors and owners from all such claims, demands, injuries, damages, actions or causes of action. This includes attorneys’ fees and court costs resulting from exposure of the class participant to any illness or disease while in The Play Lab facility or any illness or injury resulting there from. This includes injuries resulting in, but not limited to, sprained or broken limbs, bruising, cuts, burns, abrasions, falling, including risk from the actions of others.
The parent/guardian will make every effort to not bring an ill child to The Play Lab or one that, to the best of their knowledge, has been exposed to any contagious disease. The Play Lab reserves the right to refuse admission and/or use its sole discretion to send a child home if ill or puts other children at risk.
Class participant’s parent/guardian agrees that he/she or authorized caregiver shall remain on The Play Lab premises to directly supervise their children and be responsible for their safety at all times in the common hallways, lounge, classrooms and restroom facilities, unless otherwise agreed to by The Play Lab management. The class participant parent/guardian agrees to assume all risks should they or the authorized caregiver leaves the premises.
Parent/guardian gives The Play Lab permission to communicate via email provided regarding: programs, services, announcements and my account. The Play Lab does not sell or share lists with customer information.
Parent/guardian gives The Play Lab the irrevocable right to use photos of myself and my children for the sole purpose of promoting The Play Lab and waives any right to inspect or approve the photos. Names are never used. In the event a name will be used with a photograph, The Play Lab will contact you and ask for permission before releasing a photograph with a name. Parent/guardian has read this release of liability and fully understands its terms.
In the event of an emergency, The Play Lab personnel will use their best judgment and efforts to contact the member, emergency contact number on file or authorized caregiver. The Play Lab is hereby released of all liability from calling emergency medical care, should The Play Lab personnel be unable to reach the member or authorized caregiver within a reasonable amount of time. The parent/guardian of a class participant acknowledges that The Pay Lab does not have a medical staff on the premises and cannot provide emergency or other needed treatment.
$250 non-refundable booking deposit is required to hold date and time of your party. 10% service charge & gratuity is added to your total. NYC Sales Tax of 8.875% will be added to your total.
50% of total payment is required 20 days before the date of the party. Payment in full is required 7-10 days before the date of the party. Any adjustments due must be paid prior to the start of your party.
Please submit the final count of attending guests no later than 7-10 days prior to date of the party. There is an additional fee for any extra guests (children or adults) above the limited headcount.
Birthday parties are 2 or 2.5 hours in length. Please note that on days that we host more than one party, there may be another set-up or clean-up taking place right after your time slot. Please do not arrive more than 5 mins prior to your party.
You can extend your party time for maximum 1 hr (at extra fee of $250) - please check our availability for extended time in advance.
All décor are for display only and may not be removed from The Play Lab's premises after the party. No confetti, cotton candy, or unwrapped/loose candy allowed, as well as pinatas. Violation of decoration or food rules, and party requiring additional clean-up is subject to $150 clean-up fee.
Outside food and cake is allowed (an extra outside fee will be applied to your total). You can order food and beverages through us (ask us for a catering menu). Food, cake and beverages must be served in designated party area only. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted. Due to members with allergies, pets are not allowed inside The Play Lab.
Your $250 booking deposit is non-refundable.
Please give us a minimum of 48-hours notice by email and by phone if you must reschedule due to illness, inclement weather (including storms), or other unexpected emergency.
a) If you notify us within this time frame AND hold your event at an alternate date, your total party costs can be applied toward your rescheduled date within 30 days of cancellation, EXCEPT the following: we will charge you $150 in unrecoverable labor and supplies that incurs to set up space, decorate and then break-down to prepare for other parties, plus 100% of birthday cake cost, 50% of food and $50 live entertainment booking deposit charged by third parties to reschedule your event to another date. These will be added to total cost of you party held on rebooked date.
b) Rebooking date and time is subject to availability.
c) If you do not notify us 48 hours prior to start of your party in writing via email and by phone the full cost of the party is non-refundable. You must notify us or we will proceed with producing your party in full.
d) If you do not reschedule your party but decide to cancel it, you agree to pay $200 in unrecoverable labor and supplies, plus 100% of birthday cake cost, 50% of food and $50 live entertainment booking deposit charged by third parties to The Play Lab. These sums are non-refundable.
e) The remaining portion of your total paid party total, after the non-refundable fee and costs from d), can only be applied toward membership, classes or room rental within 90 days of the originally scheduled party date.
f) Fee for downgrading your party package from Ultimate to Basic less than 21 days prior to Party Date is $150.
g) Any refund is by check. 4% credit card fee billed by merchant bank will be charged for deposits paid with credit card
All guests will be asked to sign our release form/waiver, as is required of any open play guest or member, prior to use of the play space, for liability purposes. Forms will be provided to your guests as soon as they arrive.
All of general rules, such as respecting “socks-only zones” and no food/beverages inside play spaces apply to all birthday party guests. No rough play and no children over age 10 allowed in playspace, except with younger siblings.
